Am I Eligible?

All Engineering courses offer the option of a degree with a Year In Industry.

You can transfer onto a degree with a Year in Industry at any time, contact the Year in Industry Team for additional information.

Be aware that the offer of a placement from a company may be on the condition of you achieving a certain grade (e.g. 2:1) and they may withdraw the offer if you do not achieve the required grade.

If following the Spring Exam Period you have not obtained at least 100 credits and are at risk of failing the year, you will not be permitted to proceed on your placement.

Please contact the Year in Industry Team if you are concerned that you may not meet the above academic requirements. 

Normally companies offer placements to penultimate year students, hence you will return to the University after your industrial placement to complete your final year of study.

• BEng/BSc students will undertake the year in industry after their second year of academic study. 

• MEng/MComp students will undertake the year in industry after their third year of academic study.
