Where to Find Placements?
Popular Websites to find Industrial Placements:
Where else to look?
Visit company websites directly, and follow the link for 'Careers', 'Employment' or 'Graduates', as placements can be discovered that are not shown on search websites.
Indeed is also a job search website also worth visiting, use the filters to narrow down your search.
LinkedIn is also an increasingly popular way to find placements. Use the 'Jobs' tab and follow companies you are interested in as this is where they will also post opportunities.
Speculative Applications
Some companies do not directly advertise their placement opportunities, so a speculative approach is one way of finding placement opportunities.
Send a targeted CV including a cover letter explaining why you are approaching the company and what you would bring to their organisation.
This can be an effective way of finding a placement with a smaller organisation or company in a niche sector.
Not all speculative applications will receive a response so make sure you approach a named contact and make your application as tailored as possible to increase your chances.

Placements overseas will incur additional expenses due to cost of flights, visas and health insurance.
Placements overseas can vary in duration so may not meet the year in industry requirements, please check before applying.
Consider language requirements, even if the business language is given as English, consider how you will communicate outside of work.
We strongly advise to research thoroughly any organisations who request a fee for their services.
Funding for placements overseas may be available via the Turing scheme.
